Newberry has a population of 8,500 people and is a fast growing city in Florida. A charming and warm community nestled in the heart of North Central Florida, Newberry has a 100+ year history in agriculture. It is home to the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Alachua County office. Newberry is an easy 15-20 minute drive from Gainesville and hosts the longest running watermelon festival in America.
